Thirukural திருகுறள்

Thirukural : A 2000 year old Tamil Classic on life, virtue, money and love, written by sage Thiruvalluvar. I was forced to mug Thirukural during my school days. Guess its time re-discovering its value. This is a must read.

An initiative to Podcast Thirukural, would be a great idea to promote Thirukural on the internet! Is respected Seyyon listening?

Thiruvalluvar

Thirukkural consists of 3 major categories like Virtue, Wealth and Love spread across 133 Chapters containing 10 couplets each. It is the only tamil literary work (possibly after the Bible) that has been translated many times in almost all languages of the world. Wonder where i will be able to get a Thirukural e-book.

Hello Muthu

It’s a wonderful idea to podcast Thirukural. I am involved in the content development on Podbazaar (www.podbazaar.com), a website targeted at the South Asian audience.

Please let me know if I can be of any help. I know the audience visiting Podbazaar will be very interested in this podcast.

Hi Sujatha,
Great to hear from someone who is interested in Podcasting Thirukural.

I am great believer Re-Use. AIR Chennai might have recorded audio files of Thirukural, orated by respected Seyyon. May be this data can be accessed with permission and compressed to a Podcast compatible format.
Now we need someone to get in touch with Seyyon.

Alternatively, one can record the actual couplets along with explanations and store them as per Thiruvalluvar’s taxonomy!
