Golden Ratio!

Golden ratio: A/B = 1.618 = Square root of 5-1 divided by 2

iPod DesignExample in Human Body :

A = Length of the Lower Arm
B = Length of the Upper Arm

Consumer Product Example : iPod MP3 player

A = Length of the Lower part ( from the end of the display area till extreme bottom)
B = Length of the Upper part ( from extreme top till the end of display area)

Any other examples? ; )

An easier way to remember the golden ratio: Dividing a line into 2 segments a and b such that the ratio of b to a is the same as the ratio of a to a+b.

Yea, it might follow the golden ratio, but you have the golden ratio as “the square root of 5-1 divided by 2″ when the golden ratio in actuality is “1+the square root of 5 all over 2″ just in case anyone was trying to look deeper into things…..as for the nano, its possible…??

nina,
(sq root of 5-1 )/2 = 0.618 = golden ratio
golden ratio+1 = 1.618 = Phi

ipod nano does not use the golden ratio.
