I’ve been VERY happy with my erstwhile Airtel Broadband connection. Stable connections, decent speeds, okie-dokie customer service yada yada yada.
Except for some god-for-saken reason, my new address falls under their “No Network Area”. One of my friends lives a just a Kilometer down the road and his residence is within their “Network Area”. Aitel’s customer care executive was very sorry for not being able to retain me as their customer.
Movin on, i spoke to some of my other friends Reliance Wi-Max, BSNL Broadband DataOne, Sify Broadband connections etc., Nobody seems to be happy with the speeds, connection stability and customer care. A blog search ONLY yielded negative feedback on all such broadband connections.
I am keen on getting a Wi-Max connection, but it looks like its not yet really arrived in Bangalore.
Which Broadband Connection do you use?
My brother has a Reliance WiMax connection in Bangalore. He seemed pretty happy with the connection speed.
This is the sad fate of “Silicon Valley” on India.
I have similar issue, the bsnl/airtel office are less than a km and they are not offering any connection.!!
A friend of mine uses reliance wimax and he is happy with it.

Dude, so I live in San Francisco and honestly we have it much better in Bangalore man. For one Wi-Max isn’t an option here….Broadband is controlled by a few telecom companies who seem very old world in their thought process. It’s all profit driven. They charge 30$ for 1.5 MBPS DSL connection. There is a 4 MBPS Fiber Optic Connection for 50$ but compare this to the 50 MBPS Fi-Op connection you get in Hong Kong for ~ US$30. Google is trying to change this by bidding on part of the spectrum being auctioned, but the telecom guys have powerful lobbies in Washington.
I’m not sure what speeds we have in India but seeing that Wi-Max isn’t even an option here, it’s gotta be a better situation than here.
